top OKINAWA SUBMISSION JIU JUTSU KAI
To Non-Japanese speaking persons:
Welcome to the Okinawan Hybrid
Grappling Club. The Okinawan Hybrid Grappling Club practices
mainly"ne-waza"(ground-fighting)techniques. In our workouts,we mix Japnese
jiu-jitsu, Kosen judo,Brazilian jiu-jitsu,subnission grappling,and sambo
techniwues. Our workouts include both drilling techniques and
randiri(sparring). During most of our workouts, the unifrm is a
gi. However, some members occasionally train no-gi.
The Okinawan
Hybrid Grappling Club is organized to practice for
self-improvement, fitness, and the enjoyment of training itself. We are
not organized to train for professional matches, prizes,or for
tournaments. The Okinawan Hybrid Grappling Club strives to maintain a
friendly and family-like atmosphere among the members of the club. It is
important to us to maintain an environment that is conducive to learning
the many grappling techniques that exist. In that respect,we emphasize
safety for all club members to avoid injury. Heel hooks should only be
executed with the consent of your partner. Armbars, elbow locks, knee bars,
ankle locks, shoulder locks, wrist kocks, and chokes are all important and
acceptable techniques. Small joint manipulation(bending individual fingers)
and gouging/poking with fingers is prohibited.
If you would like to
train in "ne waza" and join the Okinawan Hybrid Grappling Club you will be
expected to complete the following. 1)Provide a recommendation letter from
your martial arts instructor or Japanese sponsor 2)Provide a copy of your
passport or other form of ldentification; 3)Follow the instructions of the
Okinawan Hybrid Grappling Club Instructor and behave with dignity both in
